Serena Williams said watching her baby daughter going through the painful process of teething has been heartbreaking.
The 36-year-old tennis ace reached out to her 7.2 million Instagram followers about her daughter Alexis Olympia’s teething problems.
‘Teething- aka the devil – is so hard. Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable,’ Serena revealed. ‘She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep.’
She also revealed the techniques she’s tried to soothe her daughter’s pain so far.
She said: ‘I’ve tried amber beads… cold towels…. chew on mommies fingers…. homeopathic water (lol on that one) but nothing is working.

‘It’s breaking my heart. I almost need my mom to come and hold me to sleep cause I’m so stressed. Help? Anyone??’
And the internet is not short of mums wanting to give other mums advice, as they flocked to Serena’s rescue.
‘Clove and oil mixed together helps,’ said one, while another added:’ Gripe water, nuby natural teething gel or baby orajel natural, and old school cold teething pretzel (sic)’.
Others offered teething gel, teething tablets, teething rings, Tylenol, salt water and a little bit of alcohol on the gums – so Serena’s got plenty of new tricks up her sleeve.
And this is not the first time she’s reached out to her fans for help.
Earlier this month Serena revealed that motherhood has been making her very emotional, and asked for breastfeeding advice.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed? Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop? (sic)’
Her fans followed through once again, sharing their breastfeeding stories, with some saying 12 months and others saying 3.5 years.
Serena gave birth to Alexis Olympia on 1 September, with husband Alexis Ohanian.
